When undergoing orthodontic treatment with dental braces at OrthoSmileCraft , you can expect to begin with a consultation discussing your individual case and proposed treatment plan.
After your consultation, and confirming the treatment plan, in some cases, small plastic discs called spacers may be placed between your molars about a week before the braces are applied. Thereafter, the metal or ceramic brackets will be affixed to the front surface of your teeth. An archwire will then be placed over the brackets and elastic bands will be used to hold it in place.
Once the braces have been placed, you will return to us about every 4 weeks at first and then 4-6 weeks towards the end of treatment to have adjustments made. After first having the braces placed or after adjustments, you may experience some minor discomfort or soreness. If needed, over the counter pain medications can be used to alleviate this.
